So as soon as this server gets popular there is going to be a problem of hackers and alters.

What i believe you should do is add a system for this.

If a person is caught using blatant hacks like b hop and blatant kill aura then you insta ban them.
If the person is suspected of using non blatant hacks you should screenshare.
Staff should get trained on how to properly SS, and use programs like Vape smasher etc. The SS would be done over the discord server.

I made this post because mineplex allows people to run around with blatant reach and autocllicker and i do not want this server to be the same.

We have been throwing the idea around in Leadership a bit. It's not a focus currently but it could go either way. In theory it's a good idea but it does require significantly more staff power than just basing punishments off of observable gameplay.

95% of cheats are immediately noticeable or are cases of people who aren't cheating but are attempting to get 'false banned'. 3% of the remaining people need to be watched for longer and will eventually do something suspicious enough to warrant punishment.

The remaining 1-2% is where things get interesting. These people are the ones who are using a ghost client or just have an extremely weird situation that causes suspicion. In the case of ghost clients, the ones that aren't obvious generally don't have a significant impact and only provide a minor advantage. Add in the fact that our server involves a custom skill system will provide even less of an advantage for these people.

The people who merely have weird situations that aren't properly explainable but there isn't sufficient evidence to punish for, will simply get away with it until more evidence is provided against them.

You might not even have to code your own client/launcher due to the fact that CheatBreaker will probably be out soon!

So I'm just going to give my two cents on this. I'm 100% against Screensharing.
Let me explain why.

Whilst I believe that Impulse made many great points, personally I believe that Screensharing is an invasion of privacy and a waste of time.

Invasion of Privacy
So, think of it this way. A staff member forces you into teamspeak. You're on your email account and you accidentally leave an e-mail open showing how you can't wait for school to start at 332 Guild St! So basically you've just given a stranger what school you go to. Now, that's not that bad. What I find worse are the SS tools. You're giving a program >> you don't know or trust << administrator access on your computer to search through all your files. That's an invasion of privacy. I find it disgusting. If a player is cheating on a network, the moderator should have the observational skills to slow down the clip, look for any cheating, and subsequently ban the player.

Waste of Time
Screenshares can also be a huge waste of time. Say you're on your way to an event. You get screenshared in the middle of a chase. The other player instantly gets away. The Moderator brings you into TS, they invade your privacy, only to find you are clean. So now they've wasted your time & affected gameplay. It's honestly dumb.

HOWEVER!
Screensharing will find over 90% of the hackers as usually they do not have ghost clients. This is true, but due to the first 2 points I've made the means don't justify the cause.

Regarding the MAH
Client forcing people is also wrong (TheCreeperCow). Say I want to play your server with my forge modpack. But I can't because I have to be on your MAH. In order to switch from Mineplex where I'm using forge to TeamX guilds I would need to relaunch minecraft. Now, that's just not worth it for me when I'm simply just trying to get on the server!

That being said it's a good idea, just not one I'd personally like. Catching hackers by spectating is the most efficient & least gameplay changing as well as least invasive. As said previously, if a player is using minor hacks that aren't visible by a moderator, is it really worth it to punish them in the firstplace? Someone with KA set on a range of 1 (Inside your body) isn't going to get such an advantage that it's worth the SS or MAH client. You'll be able to tell if they're bhopping or xraying for ores.

MAH is a BetterPvP exclusive anti-cheat (in the mean time) so you don't need to worry about that.
Furthermore, it allows a handful of mods and mods that players request to be added get added pretty quickly as long as they are deemed OK.

On a side note however, out of all the options you've talked about, using a client side anticheat mixed with server side detections would by far be the best options, since you would only make people using obvious hacks (not the little things as you mentioned) use the client, and allow everyone else to play with their client of choice until caught or admins have high suspicions.

SSing is a very flawed and time consuming method for both the admins / players conducting it, and the player who is being SS'd. Not to mention how damn intrusive it is against their privacy.

tl;dr A solid mix between client side and server side spectating is the best solution in my opinion
